Reading this way after you posted it, but loved every second of it. I especially love the one about complimenting the elderly. I work in a memory care center with individuals who have dementia, and the way that they all light up whenever you give them any compliment (they look handsome, their nails look nice - even if I literally was the one who painted them an hour earlier, that they're outfit looks good on them. They love it. They may not remember it shortly after, but in that moment it makes the biggest difference.
Such a great list! I am still working on so many of these, but the visual comparison in 47 I think may have actually broken my brain. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely be keeping this in mind when taking pictures in the future.
As for journaling, I’m so glad I took your advise a couple of years ago and just started doing it, instead of worrying if it was going to be good or bad. It’s just for me, so at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter what it looks like, but it has been such a great way for me to shift my focus to the positive aspects of life vs. the everyday hard things. Plus, I love having a place to put my printed pictures!
Okkk this is amazing Allyson. I feel like some of these things I have picked up from you already (not getting pizza cut), some I couldn’t agree with more (solo movies!) others I love but haven’t really ever thought about. ESP the 10 out of 10. Man I will be thinking about that for a long time!
i took a screenshot of #71 because i never thought about that and now i want to talk about it in my journal haha! one simple compliment i've gotten multiple times in school from elementary to college was "your handwriting is good" and ofcourse that has stuck with me. i'm like yeah i have a good handwriting, i have something i'm naturally good at. more than four people told me so i believe it and that's cool i'm the friend with the good handwriting lol that's just one silly example but yeah 🤪😅
